Summary:
IDP was approached by Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) to provide a service from concept design through to working drawings on a number of projects are the arena.
The scheme provides new build, re-modelling and refurbishment elements, and all taking place within a ‘live’ environment.
A key objective of IDP Group was to minimise disruption to existing ACL commitments, reducing the likelihood of impact upon revenue streams.
The scheme encompasses a new 680 seat auditoria for live music and theatrical performances, conferences, combining with the main 1250m2 exhibition space.
As part of ACL’s review of their existing facilities, IDP looked to provide opportunities within the existing stadium footprint. We were able to identify space for the addition of nine new en-suite bedrooms and the conversion of a past tenant’s space into a hotel, restaurant and conference facilities.
In addition, plans included the provision of a bespoke hotel entrance within the newly refurbished north entrance to the stadium.
Following IDP feasibility proposals, ACL was able to successfully attract De Vere Hotels as their franchise partner for the existing and proposed hotel within the stadium.
