IDP collaborates with Simon Kirton at Zero Energy Architecture

10th May 2022

Here at IDP, one of our key commitments is to protect our future generations, and we distil this thinking into our practice every day through the way we approach designing places for people. We are therefore excited to be collaborating with Simon Kirton at Zero Energy Architecture, drawing upon his unique expertise in building sustainability.

Following his passion for the planet, Simon founded Zero Energy Architecture in 2006, and has since been at the forefront of zero energy building design, procurement, construction and post occupancy analysis.

With the forthcoming changes to building regulations, and Government’s 2050 net zero targets on the horizon, Simon understands the requirement for combining state of the art architectural design, building efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Simon has worked with some of the UK’s leading brands, including Costa Coffee, designing their new and sustainable ‘Ecopod’ in Newport, Wales. This award-winning and pioneering project led the way for the brand and supports them on their journey to meet their own stretching targets.

We have already started to work with Simon on a net zero building design for one of the UK’s most recognised brands and look forward to this continuing on future projects.
