The scheme utilised shared surfaces, with streets interwinding throughout the development to recreate the same spatial qualities seen in the more historic parts of Bourton on the Water. The dwellings were very carefully plotted to create flowing thoroughfares with intermittent focal buildings, deliberately placed to interrupt the flow.

We purposefully designed generous gardens to allow this new development to stand the test of time, meaning there would be room for the landscape to flourish and mature with age.

We accentuated key spaces and frontages with drystone walls and softened harsh edges with plants and shrubs, creating soft meandering rural streets which echo the traditional historic Cotswold village. We feel very confident we’ve successfully created a robust scheme.
